Artificial Christmas Trees – A Round Up
I can’t even believe that I’m saying this, but … I ordered an artificial Christmas tree. Eeek! I don’t even know who I am anymore.
Y’all. I know. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. I’m also a little excited. We’ve always had a real tree. It’s tradition and all. of. those. things. I know. I know. But. There’s a BUT. The past few years our trees haven’t been as much fun. They’ve look good/fine. But, they dried out quickly, smelled really bad/moldy … and last year, we found bugs. Bugs! I just … felt over it. Really over it.
So, this year, I decided to pull the plug and order an artificial tree. I spent some time researching trees and put together a round-up of the ones that I considered …
Artificial Christmas Tree Links: 1 (Amazon), 2 (Amazon), 3 (Amazon), 4 (Balsam Hill Fraser Fir), 5 (Balsam Hill Balsam Fir), 6 (King of Christmas Fraser Fir), 7 (King of Christmas Scarlet Fir), 8 (Balsam Hill Vermont White Spruce)
I asked Ryan and both kids to pick their favorites and we settled on #4 – the Balsam Hill Fraser Fir. This tree felt right – we had always selected a Fraser Fir tree each year (as our “real” tree). This tree felt and looked most realistic and most like what we would typically chose. But, after measuring our space, I ended up ordering the Narrow Balsam Hill Fraser Fir instead. Hopefully, it will fit perfectly and we’ll love it for a long time! Stay tuned! It shipped immediately and should arrive any minute. {Don’t worry – I’m not going to put it up yet 😉 but I will take a peek and see how it looks}
Sale Alert: Balsam Hill is offering up to 30% off a lot of their trees + free shipping right now! They also have coupon codes available until the end of the month for $30, $40 or $90 off (depending on the amount that you spend).
Traditions: Now that we won’t be selecting a real tree, I’m trying to figure out what type of new tradition could take the place of our “tree hunt”. What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions? Let me know in the comments!
