The Best-est Season – Fall Home Decor ’24
Fall. It’s here.👏🏼 It might not feel like it’s here, but it’s definitely here. And, I’m ready. I’m always ready. This is my season. This is my time to shine! I know some people feel seasonal depression during the fall/winter months, but I feel that way during the long North Carolina summers. It’s stifling. And, other than pool days (I do not hate lounging by the pool), I’m over it as soon as the humidity hits.
Our home gets to shine in the fall as well. I’ve talked about this before and I’ll talk about it again (I’m sure), but my home and I … we are autumns. I went into great detail about this in last year’s Fall Home Decor post. I really got into the nitty gritty of how I approach fall and why. I need it to be simple and subtle. To accomplish that … I don’t usually add a lot. The bulk of it involves switching out stems/florals/branches and candles. I adore fall candles. The rest of it includes a pumpkin or three (but not many). I tend to gravitate toward acorns and pinecones and other natural nods to the season as well (which can roll into winter fairly easily and that feels good to me).
I also love to approach a new season with a little ritual … a little reflection. This doesn’t have to be fussy or take much time at all. I simply like to usher in each next, new season by spending a few minutes considering our senses and what it might look like to welcome that season by focusing on those senses? Let’s revisit another article from last fall – Creating Seasons with your Senses – because I really dive into this in that post. It’s the way I prefer to approach seasonal decorating because it invites you to focus more on your five senses and less on buying new …
With all of that said, I do always add a new piece or two each fall. It’s the best-est season for home decor after-all! IMO 😉
